Nokia N900

Announced in september 2009 the nokia N900 a.k.a mobile internet device running for the first time on maemo operating system based on debian Linux distribution.

Processor ARM 600MHz cortex A8 and a 400MHz Power SGX 530 graphics processor.
• 32GB of internal memory, 27Gb available for user and 2Gb for installed software
• 1Gb of memory, 256MB of RAM and 768MBA of virtual memory.

Software
The device comes preloaded with the following software's
• Mozilla based browser with support for adobe flash 9.4 and RSS feeds.
• VoIP support for gtalk, skype session iinitiation protocol.
• Threaded SMS and I'M client
• email client with configuration support for major email service providers.
Other then the above mentioned a few preinstalled games and facebook client and twitter client.

Pros
• Perfect for email with major support for yahoo, hotmail, gmail.
• microsoft office 2007 support but cannot edit docs.
• Support for google docs.
• video streaming and encoded playback for youtube and divx with TV output.
• FM transmitter.

Cons
• No MMS support.
• No support for Google maps.
• The screen works in landscape mode only. Portrait mode might be available in a firmware upgrade.

As a mobile internet device it requires a constant internet access, so guys with pay by usage data plans will be at a loss.Also the N900 is not officially supported by Nokia Pakistan, it is available locally at a price tag of Rs 47,000/- approx possibly without local warranty.
