If it isn't the Famous IPHONE

Iphone, is a brilliant design when it comes to one funky cool thing. Yes, it’s fit all except some.

Why do I say that it’s a chick phone because I have my own reasons and you can have yours.
Let’s start with the design, I personally think that this design is a great fit for a girl, a sleek slim built with curvy edges and a shine is what it’s all about. The elegance that it shows fits more to a girl then a guy.

Coming to its feature, a girl can load a 32GB with her music collection as well, and if music is not it, there are videos and what not.

As far as being a geek or techy is concern a girl doesn't need to be either of the two to have an iphone. The apps are great and even without that a girl who has an Iphone in her hand is a girl worth talking to.

Here are my top 5 reason why a girl should have an I phone:

·         The elegance is the beauty of an iphone, which is meant for a girl.

·         Girls like ipod, they'll love iphone.

·         Since it doesn't have multitasking, less chance of it getting dysfunctional in a girls hand.

·         Slim, sleek, curvy, every girls want to have such figure. Well they can have it now IN THERE HAND.

·         Last but not least, A cool gadget which looks good on girls as compared to guys.

Pro's and Cons

The following points are not specifically related but that’s generally I’m talking about, there can be more and there can be less, depending on the preferences of the user

Pro's

- A huge 3'' TRANSFLECTIVE SCREEN PROVIDES AN EXCELLENT VISION IN BRIGHT DAY LIGHT.

- SOUND QUALITY IS GOOD.

- FAST FROM OTHER DEVICES.

- SMOOTH WEB BROWSING EXPERIENCE.

- CAPACITATIVE TOUCH.

- 3G.

- COMES WITH 16GB AND 32GB SO MEMORY IS NOT AN ISSUE.

- Last but not least, Ultimate Gaming device when it comes to portability

However the pro's are not limited, let’s come to the Con's. Now we all know we don't live in a perfect world so there are tradeoffs.

Con's

- the CAPACITATIVE TOUCH is sensitive that at times it open random application that you don't intend to open.

- No multitasking.

- No third party Bluetooth support, (Major Con's)

- Expensive accessory’s.

The Con's are not limited as well, but some common are listed.

Acer vs Hp vs Dell vs Compaq

When it comes to netbooks, many things are been traded off like performance, design, power but many are being acquired as in, convenience, portability, ease to buy, style and what not. My biggest interest in a netbook is the price it has to offer, its really impressive plus its almost giving you the subtitute of a laptop. Example, you can stay online, you can work on your office plus other small things. Now don't kid me around by saying that you cannot use photoshop on a netbook. Yes you can't because its an atom processor but not everyone wants to use photoshop.
The main purpose of a netbook is to provide you with convenience to be mobile on your way and so far it has been doing it pretty well. I've compared the four main brands of netbook available to us according to my knowledge. Acer, Hp, Dell and Compaq, but why not Vaio? Believe me people when it comes to price Sony Vaio has its own mindset. They charge for the name and not the machine.

Performance
Performance of a these netbook does not differ from each other with a big margin, they all carry atom processor, HD goes max to 250 GB, Ram goes max to 2GB. in my point of view I haven't experienced any difference in the performance of each of the following brands, so My ranks are:
1) Acer
2) Hp
3) Dell
4) Compaq
Why Acer on the top, because its the most compatible netbook I've seen so far with Linux plus windows OS. Following were the configurations of the netbooks I've experienced.
Ram 1GB
HD 160 GB
Intel Atom 1.6 GHz
10.1 '' LED SCREEN.

Style & Design
This is my favourite feature, a netbook should be stylish, should be sleek and shouldn't be dull. In terms of this I ranked:

1) Acer
2) Hp
3) Compaq
4) Dell

Price
The main event is Price. A netbook starts from 29000 PKR to 37000 PKR depending upon the configurations and I'm talking about HDD drives and not solid state.
Acer has the most Compelling and attractive prices in terms of style and design plus performance while compaq is the cheapest and Hp being uselessly expensive with only the brand name to offer with no difference in the performance however.

1) Acer
2) Compaq
3) Dell
4) Hp

Maemo 5 vs Symbian

My experience with the symbian has been great, I'm used to it now, even though I was distracted with the symbian 40 series in between but that distraction lasted for couple of days only after you figure out that its just for show off. The biggest advantage of symbian is multi-tasking and 3rd party app, and that's enough to sell it however there are some trade off when it comes to stability, but as they say, YOU HAVE TO GIVE SOMETHING INORDER TO GET SOME. If you take it to the extreme symbian has some behaviour to become unstable, but that's just sometimes. You can say that it lags a bit if put on some heavy themes or full packed memory card.

Maemo on the other hand is the new guy in town and everybody hates the new guy BUT Maemo 5 is something to love about. My personal experience with maemo 5 on N900 was exquisite. The OS might be new but its beautiful, its shiny, its fast, its stable, its compatible, its eye catching, its animated, its sleek, its professional and it has potential to be the next big thing!

It has multi-tasking with some unique interface and the best thing what I loved about it is I found it pretty stable. Usually multi-tasking can result in crash or unstability but Maemo 5 is brilliant. It might be new so 3rd party app can be an issue for some, but for a limited time, creators are making apps as I wrote.

Advantages of Maemo over Symbian.
- A much better sleek User Interface.
- Better stability.
- No Lag Effect.
- Smooth Performance.
- It shows Professionalism.

Future prospect.
While Maemo is new and has a great start, with already some advantages over Symbian, I personally feel that Maemo 5 has some great potential. On the other end symbian is releasing symbian 3, but what they're offering is already been offered by Maemo 5 so head start has been taken by the Linux based Maemo. Symbian 3 has some changed UI and a bit new features with no support of the current 3rd party apps, symbian 3 has to cover a lot of market. There has been a confusion that whether current symbian users will get an update for symbian 3 or not and if not, Then they have to buy a new device with symbian 3 and MY RECOMMENDATION is to buy device which has MAEMO 5.
My next device is definitely going to be a Maemo 5.

Cellphone For Addicts/ Geeks and Daily Needs

Not a long time ago when the world came into exist and just after couple of billion years later we the human's invented a thing call mobile and now we call it, cell phones.
In today's world cell phone has become a necessity from being a luxurious thing. For some it’s a status symbol and for other, it’s useless. Though there are many that want a cell phone’s but still many of those which wants just a single feature in a cell phone to work well, I'm going to categorize cell phones in terms of their major point or specific feature.
My Phone Currently is Nokia E63 and I’ve wrote this from my cell phone, Following are my categories and the best fit for each.

Picture Capturing
This is something everyone wants and it should be good if a cell phone promises to have a 5 mega pixel camera but still there are other who does keep their promise but provide an average picture quality. My top 5 are:

i. Nokia N86 (8MP)
ii. Nokia N82
iii. Samsung Omnia HD 2
iv. Nokia 6700 Classic
v. Sony Ericsson Satio

Video Capturing
Most of the cell phones capture videos but not with good quality and they lack frame rates, so if u want some good quality video Capturing and size is not an issue then here are my top choices:
i. Nokia N86 (8MP)
ii. Nokia N82
iii. Nokia N95
iv. Samsung Omnia HD
v. Nokia N93

Video Playing
At times I like to see some good quality videos or movies on my cell phone and there isn’t much phone's which can live up to it, except for these:
i. Samsung Omnia HD
ii. Nokia N900
iii. Nokia N96
iv. HTC HD 2
v. Iphone 3G/3GS

Music PlayBack and Other Mulimedia Features
I personally think that the headset plays a very important role when it comes to music quality, however if you have some good quality headsets then I recommend following cell phones:
i. Iphone 3G/3GS
ii. Nokia Nseries( N900, N81, N97/ N97 mini)
iii. Samsung Omnia HD
iv. Nokia Xpress Music (5800, 5530)
v. Motorola Rockr E8

Web Experience
There are only few devices on this earth that provides nearly a web Experience, it doesn't matter if it’s good, it’s enough for them to just provide it BUT there is only 1 device that’s one of a kind when it comes to mobile web Experience and that is Nokia N900 followed by these :
i. Nokia N900
ii. Nokia E90
iii. Nokia N97/ N97 mini
iv. Iphone 3G/3GS
v. Google Nexus one

Games
These are a must have and they should be good and I’m not just talking about tetris. The only device which is best out there for games is the Apple iphone 3GS but still its not the only one.
i. Iphone 3G/3GS
ii. Nokia N900
iii. Nokia N97
iv. Nokia 5530
v. Google Nexus one

Miscellaneous, Email, Texting, Documents, Blogging.
I love to text, Email and Blogging and Documents has always been a necessity. The best Phones that I personally think for these activities are:
i. Nokia N900
ii. HTC Touch Pro 2
iii. Nokia E90
iv. Nokia N97/N97 mini
v. Nokia E71/E72/E63

Samsung Corby B3410

Samsung Corby B3410
First thing that came to mind after looking at this classy phone was NICE, second, Not nice enough. The phone only looks great but has a very limited functionality for some people, people like me. I think that the phone is a best fit for any girl.
The best thing I like about it, is its hybrid with a low price tag. That's the only thing followed by a sharp display.
 specifications:
·         2.8 inch TFT LCD 256
·         16 MB memory with sd slot
·         Qwerty keypad
·         Resistive Touch
·         3G but no wifi
·         2 mega pixel camera
·         FM radio
·         Mp3 player
·         Widget screen

My experience with Corby, I'll say was a bit boring. To be honest Corby has nothing to offer to a guy, except that's its just a good looking phone, I didn't experience the web browsing since I had a pay per usage plan, it would have been expensive. I want to talk about the cons rather then the pros.
Cons
1) no wifi, its a must these days. More then half of the time I was missing wifi.
2) no themes, I was disappointed more.
3) average musicplayer quality.
4) No multitasking, major disappointments for me since I am a symbian user, it justifies my boredom.
5) touch was a bit klingy. I didn't like the touch at all, may be because of the OS samsung has to offer.
6) No predictive text, even with a qwerty keyboard, that's not ethical.
7) limited, video playing formats.
9) Biggest disappointment, limited messages can be stored on the memory card, ONLY 300. I get those in a day!
10) While the phone in landscape, one can only see a single sms.

All these combine make one essential thing that a cellphone should have these days, and when u don't have these then its hard to digest. But lets face it, with the price tag that Corby is offering its not quite a bad deal, I highly recommend this phone to a girl.
Pros
1) Big screen, nice colour display.
2) A hybrid, nokia has there hybrid starts from N97 and N97 mini.
3) A 3.5mm jack as well as samsung usb slot for head phones.
4) sms thread view.

Other then some pros mentioned above I couldn't think of any, Not a bad phone when it comes to the price but not recommended as well, as you can add a little to your budget and can end up with a good wifi enable cellphone.

IPhone OS 4.0 . . multi-tasking or a joke for Symbian?

So whats the big thing that iphone is releasing it OS 4.0, well its the multi-tasking feature that they are now planning to introduce in an Iphone, MULTI-TASKING? Aint that the one which nokia phones alreeady have?? i mean symbian series? YES, OH please tell me something I dont know.
The buzz is that this OS 4.0 carry 100 new features out of which multi-tasking is the major one, Now thats what I call welcome to the 21st century, while nokia has already captured it with the symbian, So yes apple's eye has just opened.
I really dont find there buzz so attractive, i mean no nokia user or any symbian user must be thrilled by this introduction as this is not enough compelling for us.
So I've heard that the multi-tasking they are offering is just in its infancy as yet as the real deal of a multi-tasking phone is to run applications in the background where as Iphone runs 7 background services which allow the application to gain access in those background service without actually running them in the background.
The services include background audio, VoIP, background location, push notifications, newly implemented local notifications, task completion and fast app switching service that takes care of returning apps to you in the way you left them even though they were not running in between, Now thats apple definations of multi-tasking.
The new OS will be available in summers with the launch of a new Iphone and existing Iphone 3G and 3GS user will get an update, BUT! some of the features INCLUDING multi-tasking wont work on iphone 3G, (Why offered it in the first place).
Bottom line, There is not even that much that meets the eye.

IPad, Somewhere in the middle?

It’s been a question since its release and acquiring a jail break within 3 hours of its release, it makes every one wonder what was apple thinking?. The Ipad is the latest gadget in town, with more cons then pros for some and may be, not for some apple enthusiasts, any logical review can cut down Ipad in a blink of an eye.

No doubt the screen is gorgeously beautiful with a CAPACITATIVE touch but there's not much that meets the eye. If one spending 500$ - 600$ on this gadget, he/she is a perfect apple lover, however the device itself is not worth the price tag and specially when you got a perfect mac book in alternatives.

Let’s see what Ipad has to offer,

·         The screen is big, it’s beautiful, it’s CAPACITATIVE, its 9.7 inch, its multi touch so one thing that catches the eye. It can act as your personal e-reader and with apple store integrated; you can buy and read any books of your choice and any format.

·         The web experience is like no other, one of a kind web browsing is something that can be enjoyed with Ipad, but also with a mac book. So think twice.

·         It come integrated with iTunes and all the apple software, so one good thing to cheer about after spending 500$ YAY!

·          Performance, something to praise about.

·         Proximity sensor for gaming? Come on, the device weighs 1.5 pounds; you have built your forearms if you want to play need for speed on an Ipad. Even though it’s the most compelling thing about it. But then again, it’s the best portable gaming device out there.

If you're and apple enthusiasts, I've collected 5 reasons below for why not buy Ipad. Starting with the 5th:

5) No Bluetooth connectivity, even my cell phone has a Bluetooth. That means what if I have to transfer songs from my iphone? Oops sorry. And you’re limited to apple itunes, apple store and apple authorized accessories.
4) No multitasking. My favorite word/question to any apple user of iphone or Ipad is The word AND. Just ask them what they’re doing on their device and put and in the end, e.g. . .  What are you doing? Listening the songs. . . . Hmm And? . . .What I can't listen to songs while facebooking?? Apple should give this a thought.

3) No battery replacement. BIG PROBLEM, what apple though they they'll replace your Ipad when the battery time period is over( approximately 2 years) but for some user it’s an issue of data transfer and backup issue, which brings another question of privacy if apple offers there help for backing up the data. They already launched a perfect thing.
2) No Camera! Wow, even my cellphone can take a picture but not this 500$ device.

1) You don't need an Ipad. It’s not a laptop, it’s not a cellphone its somewhere in between, and we're pretty sure what we call something which is in the middle. A Net book offcourse, but Ipad is not even that and if it is, it’s definitely not worth 500$. There's actually no specific need that Ipad focuses to except a fashion thingy. It has no compelling use.

Top 5 Symbian Apps

1) Nokia messaging
For all those who're using eseries, this apps as we all know allows us to setup 10 different types of email account and you can synchronize them all at once. A beautiful app with no bugs and a pretty cool interface. for the first time nokia has changed any userinterface otherwise the default was boring. Easy steps to setup you're account and you're hooked up.
Advantage:
- 10 email accounts with all at once synchronization.
-  nice interface.
-  push email.

2) LCG Xplore
Xplore is must have application, its a mobile Xplore which allows u to do a lot of stuff, at times you need to amman certain files and Xplore is the way that gives u access to them. Not meant for everyone but geeks who have some know how of symbian OS. You can hide, edit, rename the extension, move, copy, replace and much more to all the files in your cellphone.

 3) LCG Smart Movie.
whether its .avi .mp4 .3GP u name it, and it can play it all. Imagine watching a tv series on a cellphone, yes smart Movie can play any format on a s60 device which others tend to fail. Its gives a nice thumbnail interface of all the videos in your cellphone with preview when highlighted. Easy to use and very sleek.

4) Skyfire
Skyfire is the only browser out there which can play online stream on your cellphone. This is the reason why its In the list. While other tends to open the real player in your cell phone, Skyfire plays it then and there. An experience of browsing like your pc.

5) Sms preview
Sms preview is a very fine application and easy to use, it gives u a preview of any message u receive for a short period of time. The time you want to display the sms is customizable. So if you're in a hurry and can't go inside the menu for the sms, this application solve this issue by displaying the message on your screen as it comes with a nice interface aswell.

Nokia 6700 classic

Recently I got my hands on the new nokia 6700 classic and surprisingly it feels good in the hand. The sleek design show's the elegance of the phone but with same old s40 OS, its still a question, if the phone worth the price tag.

Key feature's
- metallic heavy slim built.
- excellent picture quality.
- GPS.
- HSDPA.
- powerfull 5 mega pixel camera with autofocus.
- usb charging.
- 16m 2.4'' TFT screen.
Main disadvantages
- No wifi.
- No 3.5mm jack.
- high battery consumption.
- small screen size.

Nokia has targeted this phone to some special user's for which being a geek is not a requirement. This phone is meant to be for someone who appreciate elegance, beauty and quality. Nokia 6700 classic provides all the three mentioned. With a price tag of 21,000 Rs and no wifi its definitely provides a rationale that why people will think twice to buy it, but keeping the design in mind and if money is not an issue, then the phone is worth it.
