Not long ago when cell phone technology was on its rising, Apple released its Iphone which has been a global hit up till now and has become a valuable asset for Apple Inc. Its potential has been outstanding since the time of its release. Many came after that against the Almighty Iphone but couldn’t stand against its patent translictive screen, its power full music and video playback and ultimate gaming experience. Finally its time, it could be the beginning of the end for Iphone but it’s just a statement based on the hype that the Nokia N8 is getting or creating.
Let’s see what Iphone has to offer. We all know that it’s the best music phone out there and that’s the least of what Iphone can do. A massive bright TFT screen and a capacitative touch give it browsing experience a feel of Eden. The video playback and multi tasking ability. . . OH sorry multi tasking is just a recent word in IPHONE’s dictionary. I hate to say it but Iphone doesn’t know the literal meaning of multi tasking, so they should be offering something better in the upcoming Iphone 4.
The Nokia N8 is the still yet to be released and I have to say it’ll going to bombard Iphone to a great extent and all those who are about to buy Iphone and spend 500 Euros, can get this device at half the price and double the power.
12 mp camera in N8 is enough itself to take Iphone on the ground. Rest of the features are just an icing on the cake. USB on the go, something that is new and unique in the cellphone industry and very useful is now being launched by the cellphone giant. Considering how much time Iphone took to reach to multi-tasking I cannot make a specific assumption that how long will Apple take to constitute that in its device (may be never let’s suppose).
The HDMI slot, I can literally connect my N8 to my LED TV plus a wireless keyboard and I’ve got a portable media player WOALA! I can browse my N8 on my TV, pictures, video and what not.
The following strengths are just a basic what these devices can do, there are a lot more:
Iphone’s Strength
·The OS experience is one of a kind.
·Capacitative multi touch screen.
·Powerful video and music playback.
·May be HD video playback.
·Wonder full browsing Experience, with flash lite.
·Since it’s not a multitasking device so less chance of it getting crash.
·1000 of cool apps on Apple store.
·The best portable gaming device
N8 Strength’s
·12 mega pixel camera, with this you don’t need to buy a digital camera.
·HD video recording and playback.
·Nseries have always been a powerful device for multimedia, and N8 just proved it.
·USB on the go.
·The Symbian 3 is still new yet attractive and enhanced. Multi-tasking is the least of what it can do.
·Full flash lite 4.0 support web browsing experience, unlike the apple Iphone. This version of flash lite can open 99% of the website including video streaming.
·Many Connectivity options, Bluetooth 3.0.
The biggest advantage of being a Nokia user is that you’re not locked like apple. If you have Iphone, you’re bound to apple store, apple accessories and apple only, which in return are expensive. Iphone was supposed to launch a full flash support web browsing experience may be in the upcoming Iphone 4, but the way their relation with adobe is going I highly doubt the update coming anytime soon. It’s high time that apple realize that he’s no longer is the ultimate in cellphone technology and the answer is given by Nokia N8.
Not even Iphone 4 match up the specification of N8 and it can fail drastically, The biggest downfall of Iphone is the high prices they charge and user’s if think logically what it’s really worth they might not spend a single penny on it. On the other hand the Nokia N8 with a starting price of approximately 370 euro’s and what it has to offer is just a slap on the face of Apple’s Iphone.
For more thrilling experience do watch the posted video’s, Apple is just happy to bring video calling in Iphone 4 which already has been introduce 2 years ago by NOKIA. It’s high time that apple should change their processing (thinking) power.
Apple has used the emotional card for this advertisements and some high tech display, nice move. I wonder what if N8 technology is displayed. Nokia ad is more sensible since its focused more on the device and its feature rather then showing emotional attachments.
I'v heard that without blackberry service, any blackberry phones are useless. you cannot integrate your own email address?? it might be a rumor for something that is meant for email and stuff. The bold 9000 is the beast within the beauty. A powerful 624MHz processor and the sleek design is just an eye candy. The chrome metallic body with a black leather finish at the back is just a pleasure to hold. It adds a little xfactor in your personality. The best thing about the black beauty is the corporate elegance that is spilling out.
The track ball navigation has never been smoother and they keypad is never been better. no signs of crashing or hanging. The browser however might not support a full flash stream websites but can do the needful.
The price however is a bit off the mark but hey its a blackberry, it looks more good in your hand rather then in your pocket. One thing to keep in mind when buying a blackberry is the resale value. This Bold 9000 might cost you arround 45k but it'll sell arround 25k or a little more with some warranty.
Bill gates once said, If You can’t make it good then at least make it look good. And Nokia’s booklet 3G is the perfect fit for this quote. Nokia has tried utterly hard to make this look one of a kind, sleek, light yet not stylish enough but we’ll take it. But we won’t take it if it’s not worth the price tag. With a 500$ price tag booklet 3G is not a smart decision to buy. I mean what’s good a net book if it can’t provide you with what it meant to. Indeed a netbook is suppose to be slower for applications but its main purpose is to provide you with mobility and portability and 24/7 connectivity.
After filling the 120 GB with some of the stuff and 60 GB left to spare, the performance was like if you’re compressing a 4 GB DVD in the background all the time. May be it was the windows 7 starter that came with it. I mean come on, at one place you’re recommending minimum 2GB RAM for windows 7 and you think that 1GB ram with atom processor and windows 7 starter can be a selling point? NO FREAKIN WAY! The performance disappointed me to a great extent. Internet explorer was never faster than they’ve promised it to be. Google chrome worked fine. Performance on the internet was disappointing as hell. I mean can you imagine that it crashed 3-5 times while I was browsing on the internet explorer. I think atom is not that weak after all that it cannot support internet explorer 8.
The Bad side:
1.No Lan Slot. What if 3G service is too expensive for someone? Or not available? And it is not necessary that one should always have a wifi everywhere.
2.Average Performance, Windows starter should be removed or replaced with XP or Linux. Acer is pretty good; they have their Linux based net book’s separated from those of windows.
3.Would not be great hit in countries where 3G service is yet to available, which make its target market limited to only those countries which has 3G connectivity.
The Good side:
Very Comfortable keyboard, with capacious keys and a very good track pad, and no displace of track keys unlike other netbooks.
2.Superb battery life. This is one thing worth praising about booklet 3G. It actually last for 8 – 10 hours, so there’s nothing long in writing 12 hours battery life. A little Exaggeration can be tolerated.
3.The slim design and light weight makes it very pleasurable to carry.
I have a few Recommendations for all the people out there who are about to buy net book:
·Don’t get excited by windows 7 starter, you’ll regret it later. Go for Either XP or Linux.
·Not 1 but 2GB of ram is mandatory.
·Don’t ever use internet explorer 8 on a netbook, use either chrome or Mozilla. I’ll recommend chrome.
·There are better options than Nokia when considering buying a net book. Either HP or Acer. I mean think as if you’re buying a cell phone, would you consider any other company apart from NOKIA or Motorola? Or the ones who make cell phones.
Nokia is a Master of cell phone technology. By introducing a netbook and coming into the computer industry, it has taken a big risk. What was Nokia thinking? That it’ll go against HP, Acer, and dell?? They already are established computer giants. Booklet 3G might not be a successful hit. Well not according to me and there might be people who must be contradicting with me. The initial sales that Nokia might have received would only probably because it was something new by Nokia. Soon Nokia will face a downward pattern in the sales of the booklet 3G. And if Nokia was thinking to diversify, then I guess it had made it a Jack of all and master of none. If it really wants to diversify, then it should bring versatility to their cell phones, Like N900 or the upcoming N8 (brilliant concept of USB on the go). Concept that will take Nokia’s cell phones to the next level. It’s not bad to realize an idea but it is wiser to think before you leap. May be Nokia was aiming to a specific target market but then again, QWERTY keypad is in Samsung mobile and as well as in blackberry. What makes Nokia any different or better from others is the big question with this Booklet 3G.
